Introduction
So, this is my first post on a new blog, and I'll try and keep the pleasantries to a minimum.
First, what this is: a guide, and eventually, an advice column, aimed specifically at women working in the adult entertainment industry, specifically exotic dancing. This blog will discuss three broad areas of working as an exotic dancer: 1) Interactions and relationships with customers and other customer service related issues. 2) Behind the scenes interactions and professional relationships with staff and other dancers at the club. And 3) Outside the club issues and problems.
The aim of this blog is to provide not only a "how to," but a "why" of various aspects of this industry, so that dancers (particularly those new to dancing) can consistently, predictably make good money while not falling into the myriad pitfalls that lead to diminished returns financially, and diminished self-worth psychologically.
This blog is intended mainly for dancers fairly new to dancing, who haven't had enough time to develop bad habits, or for whom bad habits haven't become permanent. That being said, more experienced dancers could also probably stand to hear a fresh take, a new perspective on some things they think they've got sorted out.
What this blog is not is a technical guide to dancing, nor is it a workout planner, a diet guide, a psychiatrist's couch, Dear Abby, or a moral soapbox. It is intended for girls who make dancing a job, and who pay their bills and support their families by treating it as such. I offer no moral judgement on anything you or anyone else does to make ends meet. I simply offer advice on how to, legally, increase profits while minimizing risk to self, sanity, and safety.
So, until I start getting emails asking for advice on how to make money, I will be posting long-ass rants on a number of topics, most notably and frequently, on How to Hustle.
And so it begins.
